What To Do When It All Goes Wrong...

It’s easy to get all dressed up, start drinking and head off into the night with nothing but hopes of having an amazing time with your mates. But sometimes things don’t always pan out like that…especially when alcohol is involved. The key to a good night out is to have a plan of action just in case things go wrong…

Too drunk – a classic. If you find yourself feeling like you’re too drunk the first thing you need to do is STOP DRINKING. Put down your drink and make sure it’s your last of the night. What you need to drink in this situation is water, and lots of it. Take a break from the busy dance floor and fully hydrate your body with plenty of water. If you don’t start to feel better it’s time to call it a night.

Don’t know how to get home – never, never, NEVER, go on a night out without having a plan to get home. Make sure you know WHO you’re going home with and HOW you’re getting there. What are the bus times? How much is a taxi? Where’s your meeting place with your friends? All things you certainly don’t want to be worrying about at 3am outside in the cold…

Spent all your money – okay, not ideal, but a good idea is to take out with you an emergency fund of say £10 and put in a separate compartment of your bag or wallet to deter you from using it with the rest of your night out money. Make sure you only use this for real emergencies like a taxi home.

Lost your friends – there’s nothing worse than dancing like crazy only to turn around and find yourself friendless. No one’s replying on the group chat and you have no idea where they might have gone. This is why you need to plan in advance – decide a meeting point if anyone ever gets lost, like outside the loos for example.
