Who we are

As part of the West Sussex County Council, Water Angel was set up to encourage young adults to drink more water on a night out to help you keep a good night good.

We all recognise that too much alcohol is bad for us, but we’re not here to preach or lecture on the amount of booze you consume each week. Our intentions are simple; we want people to be clued up on how drinking more water on a night out can lessen the affects of the dreaded hangover and keep you safe.

We have a team of volunteers, dubbed “Water Angels”, whose job is not to bombard you with messages of anti-drinking or to call your parents at 3am to tell them all about your wild antics. Our Angels are simply there to ensure you drink plenty of quality H2O during your night on the tiles and to highlight the importance of keeping hydrated and in control while consuming alcohol.

A heads up…

Alcohol is a diuretic and can cause dehydration, meaning you lose more liquid than you consume. It’s important to drink water and replace any lost fluids as your night unfolds to avoid headaches, nausea, tiredness and making a fool of yourself on the dance floor. You may be making a few more frequent trips to the loo during your night of debauchery, but it’s a small price to pay to avoid those dreaded hangovers and a hazy memory of the previous night’s events.

Be sure to keep an eye out for our Water Angels next time you’re out and about and remember to grab yourself some water to keep hydrated.
